General ramblings by an Optimizely focussed
Technical Team Lead

About.

A brief introduction to me.

A solution-driven software engineer with close to a decade of experience in the technical industry (as of 2023).

During the first half of my career, my technical efforts were primarily focused on the front end of the technical stack. However, I quickly got sick of having to try vertically align divs, or worrying about compatibility with Internet Explorer 8. So my focus shifted from JS and CSS towards the likes of C#, Ektron and Optimizely (EpiServer at the time).

After a couple of years of being a hands-on Technical Web Developer, I moved up the food chain, being given the title of "Delivery Team Lead". Looking back, this was a mixed bag of Development Lead and Product Owner responsibilities, but allowed me to both lead a team from a technical perspective, while also getting hands-on with the clients.

After over a year, I felt I had outgrown the position where I was, primarily as the company was a product-centered start-up, rather than a client-focused agency for example. And to be honest, I missed working with Optimizely.

This lands me here: a fully remote, Technical Team Lead at a fast-paced, global digital agency, where I primarily oversee the technical aspects of the development team(s), guiding and advising colleagues in technical matters, and luckily still a solid amount of hands-on development work with Optimizely and .Net Core.
